Graphite drawings

Drawing has been a way for Tim to pay homage to the beauty and unique characteristics our New Zealand fish species hold.

Pāua shells adorned with algal growth, kingfish, orange roughy, albacore tuna and tāmure are just a few of the oceanic objects Li has etched in glorious graphite detail. He hopes that these patiently constructed designs engender a respect and admiration for our shared marine environs.

Each drawing, produced on archival grade fine art paper, takes upwards of 150 hours and is meticulously rendered with truth and sincerity. A selection of drawings are digitized to 600dpi at Wellington’s New Zealand Micrographic Services. From there, limited edition fine art prints are produced by local company Picaflor Fine Art Printing.
